Food Technology

What should I have already achieved?

Minimum of 8 credits in Level Two Food Technology, or with TIC approval.

What will I learn?

You will learn a range of skills to encourage innovative thinking and to enable you to express your creative ideas. The course will be centred around a brief that will push you to expand your understanding of design through experimentation and reflection.

How will this course be assessed?

This course is based on the Technology curriculum and at this level requires students to investigate and develop a prototype considering fitness for purpose in the broadest sense. Students will work on one major project, developing and testing a conceptual design first before producing and implementing the final product. A portfolio documenting the research and development process is an integral part of the

assessment.

Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities)

Due to the nature of the course FAOs will not be available. Students will be offered formative assessment to help them reach the standard required for Level 3.

What are the course costs?

$80-00 plus some specialist ingredients may need to be provided.

Students are also required to have flat, black, closed leather shoes.
