Changes for 2027 - Sci A and Sci B
What will I learn in either Science courses?
Both courses are designed to ensure that all the learning and skills developed throughout the course, will help you to be successful with either Level 2 Biology, Chemistry, Physics or General Science.
Throughout either courses, you will:
(Practical skills) be equipped with good practice in laboratory safety skills, to carry out scientific investigations.
(Content knowledge) develop a strong understanding of core biological knowledge and skills.
(Scientific literacy) learn how use scientific terminology to produce comprehensive reports.
(Research skills) develop your analytical skills to evaluate quantitative & qualitative data from everyday information, to provide a personal justified viewpoint on a socio-scientific issue.
What are the recommendations for 2027?
Either course (Sci A or Sci B) is highly recommended. Taking both courses for the full year will help to support progression into any of the Level 2 specialist Science courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or General Science.
