What should I have already achieved?
Students should have passed the Algebra entrance test in MAT1 and the L1 Linear Algebra internal in 2021.
If a student does not meet the requirements of this course they will need to speak with the Curriculum Leader of Mathematics & Statistics in the first instance.
What will I learn?
This course is designed to develop students’ mathematical reasoning through algebra, geometry and calculus. This will include co-ordinate geometry, trigonometric relationships, algebraic processes and basic calculus.
How will this course be assessed?
A maximum of 14 NCEA Level 2 credits and 3 NCEA Level 3 credits are available: three internal assessments worth 8 credits and two external assessments worth 9 credits. Students who passed Level 2 Algebra in 2021 with at least Merit, will be offered the Complex Number Level 3 external standard worth 5 credits.
Will there be any FAOs (Further Assessment Opportunities)?
There will be NO FAOs in this course.
What are the course costs?
The course cost is $37 for workbooks and revision books.
