What will I learn
A range of skills that will enable you to access outdoor contexts such as kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, sailing, rock climbing & bouldering, snorkelling, water safety, tramping and campcraft
Risk assessment skills and decision making
Explore issues around kaitiakitanga (guardianship) for the spaces we will be using
Please note that the Outdoor education 2 course will follow the NCEA level two Physical education achievement standards. This will be continued into NCEA level three Outdoor Education in 2025 until the new achievement standards are released beyond this date. This means that the You will gain achievement standards from within Physical Education and as a result these are UNIVERSITY APPROVED. The course and contexts are all Outdoor education based, the achievement stnadards will fall under Physical Education (these will be different standards to PED2)

-DOE Bronze student leadership (Compulsory attendance trip)
-Water based (Paddle boar, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling)
-Significance of physical activity (Polyfest day attendance)
