What will I learn?

Commerce is a blend of all three specialist subjects- Business, Economics and Accounting. At OSC we will be providing a new context every year and using it to understand how these three subjects are visible in real-life scenarios.

• How do businesses make their products?

• What is marketing and selling?

• How do different sectors of the Economy interact?

• What are the basics of Accounting and their application?

• Creating a Budget for a household.

How will you be assessed?

The assessments will be done in various interesting ways. You could make Videos, create Posters on paper or digitally, write a test, or give a group presentation.

There is an opportunity to gain 3 Level 1 credits as well.

What context will be used?

In the initial weeks of each semester, the students will visit a business after researching it in class. Information gathered from the visit will help students learn Business and Economics. For Accounting, the Whānau will be the focus to prepare a household budget. Assessment will be with imaginary figures.
