What should I have already achieved?

Achieved or better in one of the L2 Visual Arts external folios AS91320 Design, AS91321 Painting, AS91322 Photography, or with TIC approval.

What will I learn?

Students will build and extend their skills already gained at Level 2. They will develop and refine their technical and creative skills using photography drawing informed by established practice (artist models) of their choosing. Drawing is used to explore, develop, clarify and extend ideas through research, compositional sketches, photo shoot planning, proof sheets, test prints, digital manipulation, compositional plans and finished prints.

How will this course be assessed?

A maximum of 22 credits are offered in this course. AS3.2 and AS3.3 internal standards will be assessed in a workbook format. AS3.4 external standard is a 3-panel folio board or digital folio that is compulsory for all students. 

Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities) 

No FAOs are offered.

What does the course lead to?

Degree and Diploma courses at major tertiary institutions for a wide range of careers in photography (eg. commercial, forensic, industrial, medical, fashion, documentary) and allied fields: publishing, photo journalism, laboratory work, photo finishing, visual arts and design.
