What will I learn?
Level Two Food Technology involves the application of a technology process to develop food products to meet the requirements of student-developed briefs. The course will also enable Students to develop skills and knowledge of food chemistry, product development and sensory evaluation techniques, food trends and influences, design and production. Students will research and identify a need or opportunity to provide the focus for their major project, which will be determined by them. Students will present their research and development, as a portfolio alongside the construction of their products.
How will this course be assessed?
Students will be assessed on an assessment outline personalised by them. Their outline must have 14 credits. A course which is above this must be with TIC of Food approval.
Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities)
Due to the nature of the course FAOs will not be available. Students will be offered formative assessment to help them reach the standard required for Level 2.
What are the course costs?
$80-00 plus some specialist ingredients may need to be provided. (Take Home - Resource)
Students are also required to have flat, black, closed leather shoes.
