Level 2 Dance
What should I have already achieved?
At least 10 credits in Level 1 Dance, Music or Drama or at the discretion of the teacher in charge in consultation with the LA.
What will I learn?
The Level 2 Dance course will build on your performance, choreography, creativity and knowledge that you developed in Level 1. You will experience a variety of dance genres, such as hip hop, jazz, Bollywood, contemporary, safe partnering practices and choreographic tasking, with a greater emphasis on technique. You will explore the choreographic processes of professional choreographers, and apply this knowledge to your own developing process. You will work with a wider range of music styles, rhythms and learning processes. There will be opportunities for you to view professional dance works during the year and to have guest tutors in class.
Dance is an approved subject for University Entrance, and an academic Scholarship subject at Level 3.
How will this course be assessed?
Level 2 Dance offers a total of 22 credits; 18 internal and 4 external credits. All internal assessments will be recorded for moderation purposes.

What are the course costs?
$30 for performance resources and workbook plus an approximate cost of $50 to view live performances during the year.
