Students will analyse a variety of past and present novels, plays, articles, short stories, poems, films and images relevant to their modern world and their place within it. Programmes designed to challenge, intrinsically motivate, offer choice, develop maturity in comprehending strong messages and ideas using a thematic approach. Twenty first century skills such as collaboration, creativity, citizenship, critical thinking, character education and communication will be achieved through challenging tasks. Our English teachers hold high expectations for all our learners to ensure they master the process of learning, by giving opportunities for students to realise their passions and self-manage themselves as learners through goal setting, reflection, resilience and make adaptations. Digital tools form an important role as part of the learning process to prepare our learners for a knowledge-based and technology driven society beyond school.
