What should I have already achieved? Minimum of 8 credits in Level Two Food Technology, or with TIC approval. What will I learn? This course is based on the Technology curriculum and at this level requires students to investigate and develop a prototype considering fitness for purpose in the broadest sense. Students will work on one major project, developing and testing a conceptual design first before producing and implementing the final product. A portfolio documenting the research and development process is an integral part of the assessment. How will this course be assessed? Students will be assessed on Technology achievement standards. This course offers 22 credits. Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities) The course involves identification of a context and developing a prototype over a long term so a further assessment opportunity is not feasible. It is important that students meet milestones and act on feedback/feed forward provided. What are the course costs? $80-00 plus some specialist ingredients may need to be provided. Students are also required to have flat, black, closed leather shoes. |
