What should I have already achieved?
Achieved or better in the external folio AS90916 in Level 1 Visual Art or with TIC approval.

What will I learn?
Studying Painting will enable students to make meaning from images or from objects with a theme they identify themselves by generating, analysing, clarifying, and extending ideasStudents in the visual arts learn to be creative problem solvers who give form to knowledge and experienceThey will study and explore a range of painting techniques and ideas from established practice (artist models) of their choosing to apply to their own works. Students will learn to research, analyse, critique and interpret how artworks are constructed and presented to communicate meanings. They are able to explore both traditional and digital methods of painting and can extend skills in a range of materials, techniques, and technologies.

How will this course be assessed? 
A maximum of 24 credits are offered in this course. The AS2.2 and AS2.3  internal standards will be assessed in a workbook format and the first folio board. The internals are optional. The AS2.4 external standard is a 2-panel folio board that is compulsory for all students.

Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities) 

No FAOs are offered.


Are there any Pre-requisites for Level 3 Visual Art courses?
Achieved or better in one of the Level 2 Visual Arts external folios AS91320 Design, AS91321 Painting, AS91322 Photography, or with TIC approval.

What are the course costs? $70.00 (Course materials, 'Painting pack' and $10 printing credit)
