What should I have already achieved?
You need to have a good base in English to be able to build
on what you have already learned. You need to be able to follow a large part of your other subject lessons, even if
you have difficulty and need some help to do so.
What will I learn?
ESOL
students will learn to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking
skills. Courses are designed to support those from a non-English-speaking
background to gain the necessary literacy credits for University Entrance or to
be able to access their chosen pathway.
How will this course be assessed?
Students will complete a selection of the above
standards, based on their level of English and their individual needs. Only the very strongest students will be assessed against the Level English Achievement Standards.
Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities)
In general, if a student is unsuccessful when
attempting a Standard in ESOL there will be a Further Assessment
Opportunity. This would, however,
require more work on the student’s side to re-attempt an assessment. for Achievement Standards FAOs will not be available.
What are the course costs?
There are no course costs for this course
