What will I learn?

This course is designed to meet the English language learning needs of students who are working at stages 3-4 levels of The English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) & The English Language Intensive Programme (ELIP).

The aim of the course is to help students gain either/and/or Level 3 English language standards ; level 1 literacy, UE literacy standards .

How will this course be assessed?

This course will utilise the flexibility of NZQA assessment to provide differentiated pathways for students

Pathway 1 using only EL standards students could gain 30 credits

Pathway 2 Using a combination of EL standards and US Literacy standards students could gain at least 21 credits

Pathway 3 Using only UE litreacy standards students could gain 10 credits in UE reading and writing

Will there be any FAO? (Further Assessment Opportunities)

Yes but it is expected with good scaffolding for formative assessments there should be little need for further assessment opportunities (FOA). However, should the need arise then FOA's will be offered

.Are there any Pre-requisite for level 3 English Language

Yes -at least ELLP Stage 3 in at least three domains (reading writing, speaking. listening)

What are the course costs? None
